POLICY & ADVOCACY

Creating Meaningful Impact

CalDAP is proud to promote the interests of parents engaged in the California Dependency system in order to get them sufficient services and a fair chance to reunify with their children.

Our current efforts include:

  • AB 1324 - (Bryan)  Pre-existing law encouraged counties social services agencies to go after parents who had successfully reunified with their children for the cost of foster care.  This legislation would put an end to collection efforts of historic "debts" from these parents.  AB 1686 (Bryan) passed last year had already ended this problem for any new foster care placements.
